Creative Play

I love graphic design because I love creating things. Some of the things I create aren’t exactly graphic design, but definitely influence my design practice. For example photography is one of my favorite creative practices. I love shooting digital, on my phone, and especially on film. I even took a photo design elective in which we shot and developed black and white film. (The darkroom is one of my favorite places). We were assigned to keep a sketchbook while on my art study abroad in Rome, Italy and it is one of my favorite possessions. I took an incredibly fun intro to digital art class where we played with all forms of digital art, including animation and video. I even got to do the photography and social media for my church’s spring break trip (look for the Amplify 2020 posts and highlight). I also consider some class design projects playful. For example, this Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month poster, or this concert poster. I hope you enjoy exploring my creative “play.”
